About the Role
We are looking for a Technical Project Manager to lead complex digital and e-commerce projects within our IT & UX team. This role is ideal for a strong project manager with a solid technical background who has previously worked as a backend or full-stack developer and can confidently engage in architectural, implementation, and performance discussions.
You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering technically complex projects, acting as the bridge between development teams, product stakeholders, and business needs. While this is not a hands-on coding role, deep technical expertise is essential to guide architecture discussions, challenge solutions, manage risks, and ensure high-quality delivery across both frontend and backend systems.

You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering technically complex projects, acting as the bridge between development teams, product stakeholders, and business needs. Key Responsibilities
Project & Delivery Leadership
- Own the end-to-end delivery of IT and e-commerce projects, from discovery and planning to release and post-launch optimization.
- Translate business, product, and user requirements into clear technical scopes, timelines, and delivery plans.
- Manage dependencies, risks, and trade-offs across multiple teams (backend, frontend, QA, UX)
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high technical quality.
- Coordinate project scope, timeline, and execution with other Project & Product Managers within the IT & UX team.
- Act as the technical reference point within project teams, leveraging your development background to guide decisions and challenge assumptions.
- Collaborate closely with developers and product owners on architecture, implementation approaches, performance, scalability, and security.
- Oversee both frontend systems (e-commerce websites, frontend frameworks) and backend systems (back-office tools, integrations, databases).
- Ensure best practices in code quality, performance, maintainability, and documentation are followed.
- Serve as the main interface between IT, Product, and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Facilitate clear and transparent communication, including planning sessions, progress updates, risk reporting, and retrospectives.
- Coach the IT team on effort estimation, risk management, and prioritization hygiene to improve sprint planning and delivery predictability.
- Support and enable development and QA teams by removing blockers and creating a structured, predictable delivery environment.
- Apply Agile methodology (Scrum) pragmatically to support efficient and predictable delivery.
- Manage backlogs, sprints (Jira), and project reporting.
- Continuously improve delivery processes, tooling, and collaboration across teams.
- Stay up to date with relevant technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices to strengthen our technical foundation.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Extensive experience as a developer (backend or full stack), with a strong understanding of modern web architectures.
- Proven project management experience in IT, digital, or e-commerce environments, including stakeholder management.
- Hands-on e-commerce project experience, such as websites, OMS/WMS, SEO, data analytics, and system integrations (payments, logistics, marketplaces, ERP).
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience or familiarity with RESTful API design and integrations.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including developers, QA engineers, PMs, and business stakeholders.
- Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written), with the ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving mindset, with the ability to balance technical excellence and delivery pragmatism.
- Strong product and business mindset, with an understanding of end-to-end value chains and customer journeys.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in IT, digital, or e-commerce environments.
- Experience with migration projects is a plus.
- Strong technical knowledge of:
- PHP and MySQL
- MVC architecture applications
- E-commerce platforms and payment gateway integrations
- Database performance, query optimization, and scalable architectures (e.g. AWS RDS)
- Object-oriented programming (OOP) and software design principles
- Frontend technologies and templating (e.g. Blade, jQuery or modern equivalents)
- Familiarity with our technology stack:
- Laravel PHP framework
- Zend PHP framework (legacy systems to be discontinued)
- ReactJS, Bootstrap
